Seymour H. Knox was an American businessman well known for his Five-and-Dime variety stores. After witnessing major success with over 100 operating stores, Know and his two cousins merge companies to form the F.W. Woolworth Company. F.W. Woolworth was the largest five-and-dime store company in North America and is widely considered to be the major pioneer and developer of the industry.

Joy (1810-1896), a lawyer and railroad builder who owned the Michigan Central Railroad. He bought many Chicago area railroads and controlled a large portion of Midwestern lines. Red pen and small punch cancellations with the latter lightly affecting Joy's signature. Fine.
