The Lombard and South Street Passenger Railway Company was a railway company that was headed by lawyer Moses Aaron Dropsie from 1862-1882. Dropsie had a significant impact on additional railways throughout Philadelphia. Furthermore, Dropsie played pivotal roles in Jewish charitable and educational work. He was the President of Gratz College and was on the board of directors for the Sephradic Congregation Mickve Israel. This piece is for seventy shares of stocks in the Lombard and South Streets Passenger Railway Company and is dated April 5, 1875. The piece features a clear signature of Moses A. Dropsie in the lower right-hand corner.
