Signed as president by THOMAS MORRIS PEROT(1828 - 1902). Merchant. Perot was active in founding The Woman's Medical College of Philadelphia, the first medical college in the world for women. As president of this library, Perot greatly expanded its number of volumes and usefulness to the general public. One small fold separation repaired with archival tape. Uncancelled and Extremely fine.

WHITNEY, WILLIAM C.
1896, Brooklyn, NY. Stock certificate for 100 shares. Green/Black. Engraved vignette of a linotype machine at top right. Issued to and signed on verso by WILLIAM C. WHITNEY (1841-1904) Financier and Secretary of the Navy. Through his marriage to Flora Payne, daughter of Standard Oil's Oliver H. Payne, Whitney gained enormously important corporate contacts. In 1883, he became involved in a bitter struggle for control of the Broadway Railroad Company, eventually gaining control by entering into an alliance with Thomas Fortune Ryan and Peter A. B. Widener. Whitney remained active in street railway affairs until his appointment as Secretary of the Navy, where he rebuilt America's naval forces. Extremely Fine. Stamp cancelled and punch cancelled, though not affecting Whitney’s signature.

Mack, one of the brothers who founded Mack Truck. Some light red staining at top center. Splits at folds with minor paper loss at one fold. Paper loss at bottom right corner. Overall very good. A rare certificate signed by one of the Mack Truck brothers.
Mack Truck History:
In 1893, John M. Mack and his brother Augustus F. Mack purchase the carriage and wagon factory Fallesen & Berry. The following year, 1894, their brother William C. Mack, who had operated a wagon-building plant in Scanton, PA joins the business.

1906, Missouri. Trustee’s certificate for 37 1/2 part of a share. Blue / White. Blind embossed company seal. Issued to and signed on verso by LADY MARY INVERCLYDE. The wife of the recently deceased Cunard chairman, Lord Inverclyde, Mary, Lady Inverclyde, christened the ill-fated RMS Lusitania in June of 1906.Stamp and perforation cancellations do not affect Inverclyde’s signature. Very Fine.

For many years he was president of Cudahy Brothers Co., a company which was founded by his father and uncle and which was at one time one of the largest meat packing houses in the U.S.. Perferation cancellation lightly affecting the signature. Fine.
