Issued to and signed on verso by CORNELIUS VANDERBILT WHITNEY Financier, co-founder of Aviation Corporation of the Amercas and Pan American Airways. The son on Harry Payne Whitney and the grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt, Whitney was one of the wealthiest men in America and provided critical financial support for Juan Trippe's plans for the airline business during the late 1920's and early 1930's.
