Two cut out cancels in the lower border JOHN E. WOOL (1784-1869) was an important military officer in the United States Army. He served gallantly in three consecutive wars including the War of 1812, the Mexican War and the Civil War. By the time of the Civil War he had been a brigadier general for 20 years and commanded the Department of the East. Rare and Very Fine.
